Boarding Questions
Yes. We require Bordetella, Rabies, and some form of Distemper combination vaccine (DA2PP, DAPP, DHPP, or DHLPP).
Yes, we require all dogs to be on flea/tick and internal parasite prevention. This promotes a healthy and safe environment for all our guests.
We do not accept aggressive dogs for either daycare or boarding.
Daycare:
To be a part of Daycare, your dog must enjoy being in a pack setting, able to take instruction from our pack leaders, and able to understand pack social queues from other daycare guests. We assess energy and play styles to make the best fit possible for all our guests.
Dogs that prefer a less social experience are fine (so long as their behavior does not create an unsafe environment for other guests). For guests that prefer the company of humans over other dogs, we do offer Day Boarding.
The goal is for everyone to have their individual needs met, to feel safe, and to have an enjoyable experience.
Boarding:
For boarding, we accept guests of all shapes, sizes, needs, and temperaments; except aggressive dogs. If your dog does not accept direction from staff, acts aggressively towards other guests, or otherwise is creating an unsafe situation through their behavior, we reserve the right to deny services to them.
Spay & Neuter Policy
At Mountain Paws, our top priority is maintaining a calm, structured, and safe social environment for every dog in our care.
Because we operate group play and shared boarding environments, dogs participating in open group daycare must be spayed or neutered once they reach social maturity (generally after 12 months of age).
We understand that some veterinarians recommend waiting longer before spaying or neutering, particularly for certain large breeds. We fully respect those medical recommendations. In those cases, intact dogs are welcome to stay with us and may participate in structured or individual play sessions rather than open group play.
For the safety and comfort of all guests:
• Female dogs in heat are not permitted to attend daycare or boarding.
• Dogs exhibiting hormone-driven behaviors (persistent mounting, marking, reactivity, etc.) may be temporarily moved to structured play regardless of spay/neuter status.
Our policies are not medical recommendations — they are designed to maintain group stability and safety in a social setting. If you have questions about how this applies to your dog, we’re happy to talk through it with you.
